     The Starting Points Center is designed to help assure the availability of comprehensive early childhood services to all children and their families. Specialized support and information is available for fathers and male caretakers of children.Starting Points Services and Programs
     Starting Points is available to children ages 0-8 and their families. Their goal is to bring together, coordinate and enhance existing childhood services through on-site services, a strong information and referral program, and educational opportunities for families and service professionals. Starting Points sponsors monthly Family Fun Nights, After School, and Summer Fun Programs.After School Program
     The After School Program, sponsored by Starting Points, is held at Hinton Area Elementary School. The hours are 3:30 – 5:30 for children ages K-5 grades. The program provides a “safe place” for students who would otherwise be home alone, homework help, literacy, art, and recreational activities, as well as a healthy snack each day. There is no fee for the program. However, donations are encouraged.
Summer Fun Program
     The Summer Fun Program, sponsored by Starting Points, is offered mid-June through August, Monday – Friday, 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. The program includes indoor and outdoor recreational activities, games, reading, crafts, field trips and special guest presenters that address children’s interests, their families and the world around them. There is no fee for this program. However, donations are encouraged. The Summer Fun Program encourages parent participation in all activities.Starting Points Services and Programs are provided by these staff members:
